Hi All,

I have installed snort on a dedicated windows 2003. I have not yet installed any anti virus on it as yet. The winsnort installation guide does not mention anything about anti virus.

Just wanted to know, whether installing an anti virus is required or not. Or is it going to conflict with the traffic capturing? Are there any implication. Please state your views/experiences on this and recommendations.

I would suggest a stand alone antivirus.

Maybe: AVG - Not sure about Server 2003 support.

If you have access to Symantec Corp; that would be the best.
