I don't really want to commit another PC to my IDS. Is it possible to install another NIC in my Master and plug that card into the WAN side of my router?
I'm also concerned about having a Win2k PC on the WAN side with a public IP. How is everyone else handling security on the slave sensors that are outside the firewall?
thanks,
Carlton.

Item 1: Yes
Item 2: Install the Public side in stealth mode (no IP). What they can't see they can't access.

Any idea how to configure the snort app to run as a service twice.
Ie run snort service on 3 nic -i3
then run another snort service on nic 2 -i3
Have had a hunt in the registry and found the service , so i could add another service but the snort HKLM\software\snort
seems to be set.

You'll have to setup another service. Here are the instructions.
