Hello,
I have installed IDS on a dedicated W2K hardware. Everything went fine except one problem:
I use MySQL 5.0.11 and snort 2.4.5, but whenever a DB-entry is created, I receive following error:
database: mysql_error: Incorrect datetime value: '2006-10-16 19:30:26.820+-01' for column 'timestamp' at row 1

If I use the "-U" switch, than no error is thrown - but I suffer from the time shift caused by the GMT-time.

Any idea how to get it work?

No idea. I know this is a known problem but have not seen anyone coming back with a fix. You might try the Snort Mailing List.
