Hello,

I have seen and personally experienced BASE failures when trying to run on IE7. Considering that the fix seems to always be to run Firefox, why not simply include this with the install pack?

I'm not sure why this is happening on some installs. This has also happened to us, but not on a fresh install. It seems to be linked to something that has attached itself to IE7. We haven't really checked into this becuse all our test boxes have been re-imaged and the problem has disappeared.

Have you exprerianced it with XP or 2003? If XP have you tried running IE7 in safe mode?

Hi Morpheus,

This is an XP Pro box with Sp2 and yes, I have tried running it in safe mode. I've also tried lowering the security as low as I could take it for local network without changing the results.

The thing is; if you did a clean install IE would most likely operate correctly. Wehaven't been able to isolate the cause.

This was a clean install. Format, Windows install, update install, then snort.

Meh, I'm not going to worry about it too much. As soon as we get it all figured out, IE8 will role out and we'll have to start over again!
lol

Yep, you might do another clean install and IE7 might work just fine. I just did a clean install with SP3 and everything works fine. However I did switch chairs for the install.
